BitCoin, Should I buy some?

Did you see the headlines today?
Bitcoin ATM machines crash as price of cryptocurrency soars!!!

That's enough to raise a few eye brows right?
My mum ask me : what the hell is a bitcoin?
My dad said : don't you dare touch it, it's going to be like the dot.com thing.
My friends said: It's going crazy. Let's get in on the action before it's too late!
My buddy said : But how? Who do we call?

My grandad reminded us: If a thing seem too good to be true, it's probably not. Stick to property.
My grandma said: You are out of touch old man, leave it to the kids.
Warren Buffet said : Stay away from it!
Jack Ma Said: Not a Fan. I know very little about it.

The uncle selling fish ball noodles said: Bitcoin is too violate to be a reliable currency.

I guess some of us are still wondering : What the hell is going on? ...lol...

It's no secret I have inherited my dad's worrier genes!

It's no secret I have inherited my dad's worrier genes & the rest of the siblings have been spared ! Since young, I was an obsessive mental inventory taker, scanning  for objects of concern. Ok, that's kind of like pressing a bruise to see if it still hurts. To me, the balance between stress & contentment was the greatest mystery.

On one hand I was convinced that the continuation of any success I had achieved was contingent upon persistent hyper-vigilance. I figure this kind of behavior must be adaptive from evolutionary standpoint- cavemen who worried about possible threats, real or imagined, probably survived longer. On the other hand, I was keenly aware that while this kind of insecurity might prolong life, it also made it less enjoyable- on all levels.

So when my friend called me up yesterday & told me that another person from the group has cancelled on our Christmas celebration (a dinner which we have planned since last year!) my concerns went off charts. What went wrong, did any one offended her, did she break up with her boyfriend, why didn't she announced that on the group chat, should I call her, why didn't she explain why ..... it went on & on. I couldn't sleep last night thinking non-stop. Finally I went with, I must have offended her in some way, that's why she has cancelled on our date which was kinda of organized by me. Slept at 4am last night!

Then at 7am she text the group: "Sorry guys, celebration on again, sorry for the false alarm! Can't wait to see the group again!"
What..........?
I spent the whole night thinking, & now it's on again? Why ? what happened? what has changed? Did someone convinced her to change her mind? Will she tell us what happened? should someone ask her? Should I ask her? would that be invading on her privacy? Oh NO.... I have to stop thinking !!!!!

Alien Sightings

I bump into Bruce Lee this morning. No I didn't see a ghost! It's not that ultra famous, legendary  & very dead Bruce Lee from Hong Kong. Bruce Lee is my brother's friend from college. He's 2 years older, but they got on quite well, back then. Maybe his parents were out to give him a hard time since birth by giving him this name, or they could really be super fans of "the", superstar Bruce Lee. But my brother's friend had it quite bad at school. Kids make fun of him all the time because of the obvious association.

But for those of us who knew him better, he's "Alien " to us, because:
1. he's a little spacey and
2. he claims to have seen a U.F.O. land in his uncle's backyard in America when they visited years back.
3.Not only is he a walking encyclopedia when it comes to things extra-terrestrial, but he's a huge comic-book fan (Marvel kind ).

Whatever it is, I've always find that he's probably the most interesting of all my brother's friends. A little weird maybe but still, very interesting. So can you imagine my surprise when I saw him, all grown up, in work clothes in the middle of Shenton Way!

My brother had lost touch with him since he went to study in California. Now he's back & is working in one of the MNCs. We exchange nos & promised to catch up. Hmmm....

The water bottle from Japan !

Just came back from my trip to Hokkaido. It was BEAUTIFUL !!!!! But I'm not here talking about the flowers or lavender.

When friends heard of my trip, the first reaction is one of envy! I've to buy these people lunches to make up for it ! See how lucky you are that you don't know people like that. Then the orders started filtering in. Yup their shopping list. Everything lavender, as it's the season & one very peculiar request. This blog is all about that special request.

Have you seen those miniature fish-shaped soy-sauce containers? The ones that usually come in bento boxes? Yes you must have, but have you seen a water bottle made in the likeness of these soy sauce containers? It'll looks like you are holding on to a big bottle of soya sauce, really funny. Of course you don't really put soy sauce in the 17 oz bottle because it could probably kill you. It's really just for water, juice or tea. So I'm suppose to look for it !

Cute right ? Anyway I went round looking for it. My parents thought I was crazy. I said no I'm not crazy, just have "crazy friends". Apparently the people from Hokkaido or those that I met have not even seen it before. My tour guide was really interested, she wanted to buy it too ...lol... We even activated the whole hotel staff to look for it!.
Result?
It's out of stock, or was it discontinued or something like that, I don't quite understand  ...... sob !!!!

Oh my God ....Three owls on a tree.

I seen some crazy weird animals. But not in Singapore right? Until yesterday, a friend sent me this picture!
Yes , they claim it's taken in Singapore. A few things quickly went across my mind. Firstly it's a damn good picture. How do you get a shot like this right? Secondly, these are really fine looking owls, though they looked kinda "surreal" . Thirdly I've never seen a real life owl before, only Harry Potter's Hedwig & that's in the movies. Fourthly do owls hang around during the day to pose for pictures ? Weird !!!!

Money is not everything, it cannot buy happiness ...seriously ???

My friend finally found a job! It pays her only $1800 per month! I ask her why she even bother to go to work. With her qualifications, she should be able to get a better job with a much better pay. But she has been applying to many places & either they don't want her, or she feels that the job is too "Tough". Mostly she feels that the higher paying jobs are way too demanding & she's not "OK" with that!

In case you think I'm one of those youth that 'ask for too much', well this friend of mine has an MBA, so now you see where I'm coming from? All those time & resources into education & she is settling with only $1800- per month now. Don't you think it's mind boggling ?

She told me " Money is not everything, it cannot buy happiness !" Sure .... I invited her to donate her paycheck to me! It's crap right? It's not even a well thought out excuse.
